Healthy Living in Irvine: Stay on Track with These Local Grocers

The holidays are here and before you know it, your friends and family will be asking about your New Year’s resolutions. If you’re like most of us, eating healthier in 2020 might be on that list of goals for January. Or, maybe you already eat healthy as it is, but have a hard time finding a grocery store with equally healthy options! Either way, here are a few grocery stores in the area that will help you achieve that healthy living lifestyle and stay on track in the months to come.

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s makes healthy eating easy. And living at Skyloft makes it even easier considering there are three Trader Joe’s less than 10 minutes away from your front door! With all of the organic, non-GMO, sustainable goods that TJ’s offers, you not only feel great about what you’re buying, but your body reaps the benefits and feels great too! As an added bonus, Trader Joe’s is notorious for their seasonal selection of treats and flavored goods! Making it easy to grab your fruits and vegetables along with your pumpkin cheesecake or peppermint pretzel swirls, perfect for that holiday gathering.

Whole Foods

Similar to the amount of Trader Joe’s in the area, there are an equal amount of Whole Foods within a similar distance! With a larger selection of health-conscious foods, supplements, beauty products, and even a deli, Whole Foods is basically your one-stop-shop for all things healthy and delicious. In just one trip, you can grab organic vegetables, vegan snacks and alternatives, skincare, vitamins, and even a fresh salad from the salad bar. While there’s plenty of reason to love shopping at Whole Foods, we’d have to say that one of the main reasons is the fact that you can get nearly everything you need, all in one place.

Heck. Yes. Green bean casserole season is upon us. Are you showing out for Friendsgiving or family Thanksgiving this year? As long as there are casseroles and plenty of pie, I am 1000% there. For my #WholeFoodsHaul I’m doing best to incorporate locally sourced and organic ingredients in my gluten-free green bean casserole. I am SO happy to have found Colorado-grown mushrooms (the secret star of the casserole) and garlic to bring out more of a fresh, vibrant flavor. While shopping, I came across @outrageousbaking dessert breads. They are gluten-free, dairy-free and so dang delicious! Perfect for an easy dessert or gift for your gracious friend or family member hosting your Thanksgiving get-together. Sprouts Farmers Market

Okay, so we’ve got lots of healthy grocery stores in the area, making it even easier to stay on track during the holidays. But Sprouts Farmers Market takes it one step further with their grocery delivery service and great selection. We might have lots of grocery stores nearby, but that doesn’t mean we always have the time to stroll through them and grab everything we need. With all of the local and organic foods we know and love, Sprouts now has online ordering and will deliver your groceries right to your front door. Healthy and convenient? That’s a lifestyle.

The next time you need to stop at the grocery store and don’t want the temptation of food that isn’t as healthy as your new year resolutions, remember these local health-centric stores that will help you stay on track! And be sure to share your new favorite grocery items with us on Facebook and Instagram. While you’re at it, keep following the blog here for more local favorites.
